The minimum age requirement for hatchet and axe throwing at Stumpy’s Hatchet House Green Brook is 10 and over with a parent/guardian. This applies at all times except Saturday evenings after 7pm, when the minimum age is 15 and over.
Please bring ID, as those who are over 18 will not be allowed without ID.

After about 15-20 minutes of training, most guests are hitting the target and honing in on the bullseye. When the group feels ready, it is encouraged to try a variety of hatchet and axe throwing target games. Instructions are in the pit, or you can ask a throwing coach. Want a head start on things? Yes! We sell light snacks such as chips, pretzels, etc. We also have soft drinks, water, iced tea, and Red Bull available for sale. Many of our locations are BYOB – beer or wine only – and we have buckets of ice to keep ’em cold for you.

Though we will try to accommodate walk-ins whenever possible, it is not something we recommend. We’d hate for you to drive here just to be turned away! Due to the popularity of our hatchet and axe throwing bars, we are normally pretty booked with reservations, especially on the weekends! Our reservation system lists all available times for each day. If no times are listed, we will not have space for you on that date. (Sorry!) However, if we do have slots of open availability, we’d be happy to bring you in! You can also call the location nearest you to ask if it can accommodate you and your group.
Of course! Non-throwers are allowed to come join the social throwdown, though we will ask them to pay $15 plus tax. With that being said, the rule still applies that all Stumpy’s guests must still meet the minimum age requirement of 18, whether they are throwing or not!

Hosting a private party with us? We also have local caterers we often work with and can set your group up with them as well.
**We will open for Private Parties any day of the week by request. Give us a call to schedule.
If you are part of a group of 1-4 people, you will need to reserve a one hour time slot. The cost per person is $30 for the hour.
Groups of 4 or more will require 2 hours. The cost per person is $40 for the two hour time slot.
For those who want to be part of the party, but are unable to throw hatchets, the non-thrower fee is $15 plus tax.
Stumpy’s has plenty of parking in the front of the building. If this lot is full, please park on the side of the building.
Non-throwers (Debbie Downers) are allowed to come join the social throwdown. The cost is $15 plus tax. All Stumpy’s guests must be 18 or over, whether they are throwing or not.

Throwing sessions for groups of 5 or more take just about two hours. However, we recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early, as your session begins promptly at the time you booked with a brief training session. If you are in a group of 4 or less, you may reserve a throwing pit for 1 hour.
Be comfortable — it’s a sporting event! We recommend you dress in comfortable clothing and sensible shoes.For safety purposes, no open-toe shoes or sandals. SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
Training takes about 10-15 minutes. This includes completing the waiver (if you haven’t done so prior to arriving), reviewing safety rules and procedures, and instruction on how to throw a hatchet.

Safety is our highest priority at Stumpy’s. This is a very controlled environment and each person who enters must go through a brief training session before they are allowed to begin their time in the throwing pits.
If any participants in the throwing pit area are not following the rules, we reserve the right to terminate that participant from the area with no refund.
Just yourself, some fun friends, closed toe footwear, and an AXEcellent attitude! We have everything you need here for your hatchet-throwing experience! We have some beverages and light snacks for purchase but if you prefer to BYOB (beer or wine only), we’d be happy to ice them up for you. Guests are also welcome to bring in their own snacks and/or order food delivery. We have menus from all the local spots that deliver.

Sorry, Stumpy’s is for big kids only – 18 and over! Occasionally we have Family Events where children 13 and over can attend with an adult.
We ask that you bring your own plates and utensils, but if you run short or forget something, just axe!
We recommend booking as far in advance as possible. Fridays and Saturdays typically fill up first, so be prepared to wait a few weeks if you want to come on a weekend night.
Walk ins are not recommended on the weekend. We’d hate for you to drive far and be turned away. If we have availability, we’d be happy to bring you in. Our reservation system lists all available times for the date. If no times are listed, we don’t have any space. (Sorry!)
We understand things come up and you may have to change your reservation. We just ask for you to notify us as soon as possible when you know you have to cancel or reschedule. If you give us at least 24 hours, we can reschedule you and transfer your deposit. No more than 2 reschedules/credits will be offered. We can refund or transfer your deposit if you cancel 48 hours or more in advance. *For parties booked for 15 or more, a refund for reservation deposit will not be available in case of cancellation.*
Please call us if you are running late. We run a tight schedule that usually doesn’t give us much flexibility. Typically we are unable to make up the time you lost, but if we can, we will. Keep in mind that there will be no price adjustments if you lose time from your reservation due to being late.
The perfect size for a social throwdown is 8-10 people, however we accommodate smaller and larger groups based on availability.
For groups that require 2 or more pits, we suggest you contact us to reserve. If you do book for a larger group online, please keep in mind that special minimum guest commitments and cancellation policies may apply. We’ll always try notify you ahead of time in these cases!

Sorry, you cannot bring your own hatchet. Our insurance policy requires all of the hatchets to be supplied by us.
If you are not following the rules it presents a hazard to everyone, and we reserve the right to TERMINATE YOUR EXPERIENCE for any reason, at any time, without reimbursement!
