WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR HATCHET THROWING?

The minimum age requirement for hatchet and axe throwing at Stumpy’s Hatchet House Bucks County is 18. We do host Family Events occasionally. These special days allow children 13 and over to come throw axes with a parent/guardian. PLEASE NOTE: We have a zero-tolerance policy for underage drinking!

HOW DOES PLAYING START?

After about 15-20 minutes of training, most guests are hitting the target and honing in on the bullseye. When the group feels ready, it is encouraged to try a variety of hatchet and axe throwing target games. Instructions are in the pit, or you can ask a throwing coach. Want a head start on things? DO YOU SELL FOOD OR DRINKS AT STUMPY’S?

Yes! We sell light snacks such as chips, pretzels, etc. We also have soft drinks, water, iced tea, and Red Bull available for sale. Stumpy’s Hatchet House Bucks County is BYOB – beer or wine only – and we have buckets of ice to keep ’em cold for you.

IS THERE A SPECIAL PRICE FOR LARGE GROUPS?

Please contact us if you are planning an event for a group of 30 or more, and we will discuss all your options.

DO YOU TAKE WALK-INS?

Though we will try to accommodate walk-ins whenever possible, it is not something we recommend. We’d hate for you to drive here just to be turned away! Due to the popularity of our hatchet and axe throwing bars, we are normally pretty booked with reservations, especially on the weekends! Our reservation system lists all available times for each day. If no times are listed, we will not have space for you on that date. (Sorry!) However, if we do have slots of open availability, we’d be happy to bring you in! You can also call the location nearest you to ask if it can accommodate you and your group.

CAN PEOPLE COME WATCH?

Of course! Non-throwers are allowed to come join the social throwdown, though we will ask them to pay $15 plus tax. With that being said, the rule still applies that all Stumpy’s guests must still meet the minimum age requirement of 18, whether they are throwing or not!

DO YOU SELL FOOD & DRINK?

We sell light snacks like chips, pretzels, etc as well as soft drinks, water, and iced tea. Should you bring your own beverages, we have complimentary ice buckets available to keep your beverages chilled.

Hosting a private party with us? We also have local caterers we often work with and can set your group up with them as well.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

If you are part of a group of 1-4 people, you will need a one hour time slot. The cost per person is $20 plus tax for the hour.

Groups of 4 or more will require 2 hours. The cost per person is $32 plus tax for the two hour time slot.

For those who want to be part of the party, but are unable to throw hatchets, the non-thrower fee is $15 plus tax.

WHERE DO I PARK?

Stumpy’s has plenty of parking in the front of the building.

CAN PEOPLE COME WATCH?

Non-throwers (Debbie Downers) are allowed to come join the social throwdown. The cost is $15 plus tax. All Stumpy’s guests must be 18 or over, whether they are throwing or not.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

Throwing sessions for groups of 4 or more take just about two hours. However, we recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early, as your session begins promptly at the time you booked with a brief training session. If you are in a group of 4 or less, you may reserve a throwing pit for 1 hour.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Be comfortable — it’s a sporting event!  Please dress in loose, cool clothing when the weather is warm. During the fall and winter, we do keep it cool, so a flannel, sweater, or sweatshirt is a good idea. For safety purposes, no open-toe shoes or sandals. SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS ARE NEVER PERMITTED.

HOW LONG DOES TRAINING TAKE?

Training takes about 15 minutes. This includes completing the waiver (if you haven’t done so prior to arriving), reviewing safety rules and procedures, and instruction on how to throw a hatchet.

IS IT SAFE?

Safety is our highest priority at Stumpy’s. This is a very controlled environment and each person who enters must go through a brief training session before they are allowed to begin their time in the throwing pits.

If any participants in the throwing pit area are not following the rules, we reserve the right to terminate that participant from the area with no refund.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

Just yourself, closed toe footwear, and and AXEcellent attitude! We have everything you need here for your hatchet-throwing experience! We have some beverages and light snacks for purchase but if you prefer to bring your own beverages, we’d be happy to ice them up for you. Guests are also welcome to bring in their own snacks and/or order food delivery. We have menus from all the local spots that deliver.

CAN I RENT THE ENTIRE VENUE?

Stumpy’s is the perfect place for a private party. We have hosted many fundraisers, team building events, and other corporate events in the past. CAN KIDS COME TO THE PARTY?

Sorry, Stumpy’s is for big kids only – 18 and over! Occasionally we have Family Events where children 13 and over can attend with an adult.

DO YOU SUPPLY FORKS, PLATES, NAPKINS, IF WE BRING FOOD?

We ask that you bring your own plates and utensils, but if you run short or forget something, just axe!

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK?

We recommend booking as far in advance as possible. Fridays and Saturdays typically fill up first, so be prepared to wait a few weeks if you want to come on a weekend night.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?

We understand things come up and you may have to change your reservation. We just ask for you to notify us as soon as possible when you know you have to cancel or reschedule. If you give us at least 24 hours, we can reschedule you and transfer your deposit. We can refund or transfer your deposit if you cancel 48 hours or more in advance.

WHAT IF I’M (MY GROUP) IS LATE FOR THE RESERVATION?

Please call us if you are running late. We run a tight schedule that usually doesn’t give us much flexibility. Typically we are unable to make up the time you lost, but if we can, we will. Keep in mind that there will be no price adjustments if you lose time from your reservation due to being late.

DO I HAVE TO COME IN A GROUP OF 10?

The perfect size for a social throwdown is 8-10 people, however we accommodate smaller and larger groups based on availability.

ALL GUESTS MUST BE 18 OR OLDER TO ENTER AT STUMPY’S!

Safety at Stumpy’s is our highest priority. This is a very controlled environment and each person entering must go through a brief training session. Throwing coaches will instruct you on how to throw safely and will monitor the game. By following our rules and procedures and exercising common sense, you will enjoy a safe and fun activity at Stumpy’s!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

For safety purposes, no open-toe shoes or sandals are permitted in the throwing pit area at Stumpy’s. Again– NO SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS ARE PERMITTED. Otherwise, Be comfortable– it’s a sporting event! The throwing pit is not air conditioned, though, so please dress in loose, cool clothing in the summer, and a sweatshirt is recommended for the winter.

CAN I BRING MY OWN HATCHET?

Sorry, you cannot bring your own hatchet. Our insurance policy requires all of the hatchets to be supplied by us.

If you are not following the rules it presents a hazard to everyone, and we reserve the right to TERMINATE YOUR EXPERIENCE for any reason, at any time, without reimbursement!
