Whether you want to bury the hatchet or you’ve got an ax to grind, hatchet throwing — aka ax throwing — could just be the leisure activity for you. Now, New Jersey’s first hatchet-throwing franchise, Stumpy’s Hatchet House, is broadening its in-state range, with a new location slated to open this month in Mercer County and another on deck for Hudson County.

Stumpy’s Hatchet House, which opened Friday — “Stumpy’s 46,” unofficially, to distinguish it from the two current and 10 pending Stumpy’s franchises — is tucked away in the rear of an office park in Fairfield.
