FAQ

ARE THERE DIFFERENT GAMES TO PLAY?

Yes. You can try your hand at several different types of games, including standard play, S.T.U.M.P.(Y.), and Around the World. Most sessions begin with 15-20 minutes of practice throws to ensure everyone feels comfortable and can hone in on the target. Instructions for the various games will be posted in your throwing pit, but you can always ask one of our friendly staff members for more information or clarity.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR PARTICIPATION?

Hatchet throwing is a game reserved for adults. The minimum age for participation at Stumpy’s Hatchet House in Orlando is 21.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

You need to be comfortable to play our sport. We recommend wearing clothing that allows a full range of motion. Athleticwear is ideal. For safety purposes, we have a non-negotiable rule against wearing sandals and open-toed shoes.

DO YOU PROVIDE TRAINING?

Of course. We recognize that most of our patrons are not hatchet-throwing professionals. Our team will provide roughly 15 minutes’ worth of instruction before every session. This training session will teach you how to grip and throw the hatchet to score points and maintain safety. During this period, we will also have you complete a waiver and review rules and procedures. To expedite the process, you may sign the waiver before you arrive.

HOW LONG DO GAMES LAST?

If you are in a group of more than four people, we recommend two-hour throwing sessions so that you can try different games and get a complete experience. Please arrive at least 10 minutes ahead of your reservation to complete the brief training session and maximize your gameplay time. If you are in a group of four or fewer, one hour of gameplay should be sufficient.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

You do not need to bring anything but yourself and closed-toed footwear. We will supply all the equipment you need.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PARTICIPATE?

If you are in a party of four or fewer and opt for a one-hour time slot, the cost is $25 per person. In larger groups that require two hours for gameplay, the price is $40 per person. If you have a friend who wants to join but not throw, he or she can do so for $15 plus tax.

HOW DO I RESERVE A THROWING PIT?

We make it convenient for you to reserve a throwing pit online. We recommend doing so well in advance of your party or gathering. The schedule on Fridays and Saturdays fills up quickly. We are happy to accommodate parties of all sizes, but we have found that eight to 10 people is ideal. If you are running late for your reservation, please call us. Our tight schedule does not typically allow much flexibility, but we will try to help if we can.

DO YOU TAKE WALK-INS?

We accept walk-ins if we have available throwing pits, but our schedule is usually full. Please check online for available dates and times.

DO YOU HOST PARTIES?
